A Message From The New Horizons Chapter Chief Daniel Koschoff...
Dear Fellow Arrowmen,
First I would like to thank all of those who
helped with the OA Popcorn Distribution Service
Project, as well as those who donated something
for Toys for Tots at the Lodge Winter Fellowship
Banquet. The power of one can make a
huge difference and the power of many can
change the world. Thank you once again.
The 100th anniversary of the BSA is February 8.
On this day is the New Horizons Chapter Meeting
and Banquet. It will be held at Bonhomme
Presbyterian Church, 14820 Conway Road,
Chesterfield, MO 63017-2099. The cost is 12
dollars per person before February 1, and 15
dollars after February 1. The program is Birds of
Prey given by the World Bird Sanctuary. Please
make all checks out to GSLAC.
March 6 is the Shawnee Lodge Ceremonial Team Seminar
at Beaumont. ALL arrowmen are encouraged to
attend, and the registration is due by February
8. Sign-up with Ben Moore, the New Horizons
Chapter Second Vice Chief
(boatr322rep@yahoo.com). The cost is 12 dollars
and includes a t-shirt and lunch. The
seminar runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If your
ceremonial team is expecting to perform at the
seminar, please contact Ben Moore ASAP.
Furthermore there will be 3 service projects this spring. There will be a Beaumont and a Chesterfield Arbor Day Service Project hosted by New Horizons (details TBA on newhorizonsoa.org). The third is the Shawnee Lodge One day of Service at S bar F the weekend of April 30 to May 2 (Limit to 300 participants).
The Spring Conclave is one of my favorite times of year. My first ceremonail team performance was at the Spring Conclave in 2007. From there I kept becoming more and more involved in the OA. Whether you are a Ceremonialist, Elangomat, Ordeal/Brotherhood/Vigil Canidate, or an adult leader/advisor, I challenge everyone in New Horizons to become more involved in OA and Scouting. So fullfill the obligation and become more involved in OA and Scouting. If the power of one can change the world, imagine what the power of 10, 100, or even 1000 scouts can achieve.
Please do not forget to continue working on Cub
Scout summer camp promotion. Our goal is to
have all of them completed by March.
